I enjoyed the Musee L'Orangerie which is near the Louvre in the gardens of Tuileries where there are also cafes where you can eat outside. The metro was a bit of a challenge working out which type of travel tickets to buy. In the end we chose the T+ tickets where you can buy 9 at a time (or any number up to 9). There were some ticket barriers which didn't like the tickets but on the whole it worked. Food wasn't as expensive as I'd anticipated, and especially good value on the Eurostar. The Louvre was good but I'd say plan what you want to see before you go because it is absolutely huge and hard to navigate round. We tried the audioguide but don't recommend it, it's too complicated. I enjoyed the Jardin Plantes cos there was some plant history and unusual crop plants being grown there.

We stayed in the Latin quarter which was delightful.
We stayed in the Latin quarter which was delightful. The gardens of Luxembourg were close by and we had a few walks in there and a delightful half hour sailing the boats. The Louvre was great but very crowded in the Italian and French galleries. Its well worth heading straight for level 2 which is always less crowded. The area round Montmartre is fabulous and our grandson loved the land train. The area we were in had some very superb restaurants but the best must be the Polidor. It is very old and the food was excellent. Paris has a great metro system but its also a great city to walk.

The Olympic construction is affecting traffic right now.
The Olympic construction is affecting traffic right now. Take the underground or a bus as it’s easier, faster and much less expensive than a taxi. Visit in the fall or spring if you can.
Paris is a magical city. This was my fourth trip and the people were very kind to me. Be sure to greet people first ie “Bonjour” and look them in the eyes before asking if they speak English. It’s considered rude not to greet them first. I found Google Translate very helpful when communicating with a Taxi driver. I wrote to him to please take the fastest route because I had a guided tour. I’m going to start learning French! Hope this helps!

Local people are much more friendly than the stereotype - without being French speaking. You can find restaurants in non-tourist areas that are very reasonable in price and very good in quality. Popular tourists sites can be VERY crowded - especially museums and Champs Elysee and the Metro at rush times. The risk of pickpocketing is not felt if you take simple precautions. Be sure to say "Bonjour" and enjoy the amazing architecture and wonderful neighborhoods!

I will not recommend to buy the Turbo Pass as there is not enough time to see all for what you paid. I got the turbo pass for two people for 440euro with Effel Tower and a lot more included but there was not time to take full advantage of all the attraction as the que lines are too long and I had to book everything in advance if you are late for one booking then all your bookings are not valid.

Paris is a blessing unto humanity.
Paris is a blessing unto humanity. A beautiful city that has generated countless ideas, innovations and artistic visions throughout history. Metro is great, getting around is easy, though I love walking great distances on streets that I feel are safe and interesting.
Boo on the French for continuing to smoke like fiends and foul the air in the cafes and streets. And what's with the dog poop on the sidewalks? Merde, alors....Pick it up and compost it!
Bravo on Paris for transforming itself into a green city, soon with more bicycles than cars--and a garden for every corner.
The homeless have proliferated--a worldwide challenge. But Paris seems to have it managed, with tent areas and public bathrooms. Far from perfect, but other cities can learn a lot here.
I booked it because it was cheaper than other hotels. According to its price, it was very good. A cleaning lady came every day. The staff was very nice and cooperative. The room was small but cozy and nice. We had our own toilet, even if it was a small one. But that is understandable because of the low price. The hotel is surrounded by many options to eat, there is a Chinese restaurant right next to the hotel. And a very good bakery. All in all, it was a very good deal. I would stay here again, if I go to Paris.
The superlative location of the hotel made the stay wonderful with terrific restaurants in the next block. The hotel is beautiful, with all the traditional and ornate charm I had hoped for in Paris. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Loved the cafe au lait! The staff was both professional and welcoming. Our room was quiet and cool even with the unusual heat which had struck France. The beds were comfortable and separate so we both got a restful sleep.
Very cheap Hotel. You get what you pay for. The staff were nice. The room was alright. The bed was good, the bedding was old but clean. We had a sink and wardrobe in the room. There was a view of Paris. Windows were big enough. Lights were bright enough for the whole room. It wasn't too noisy. We stayed on the fourth floor. Like I said, everything is justifiable. For tourists, this may be too shocking. For people used to living in Paris, it is what it is.
My experience at this location was exceptional! The staff was extremely friendly, kind and helpful particularly the female receptionist (I can't remember her name but she's originally from France/German boarder). She was extremely accommodating and welcoming. The other staff members were great as well. The hotel is older but my room was nice, clean and accommodating. The front desk receptionist/desk attendant even provided a baby bed which was awesome!
very clean air conditioned apartment. it is 5 min walk to Louvre, the metro station and across from bank de France so a very safe central location.many restaurants and a couple of supermarkets in walking distance. The owner is super friendly and was there to meet us and gave us instructions and tips for the apartment and things to do in Paris. The place has 2 full bathroom and washer and dryer which was very convenient for our family with kids.
The location of the hotel is amazing, one of the main reasons I chose it. It's close to several metro stations, two large train stations and Monmartre. There are several shops nearby that work even on Sunday (which is not typical for France) and a green market across the hotel. The room was smaller than I expected, but I didn't mind since I spent most of my time sightseeing. The staff was amazing and they know English.
This is a lovely hotel in a part of Paris that feels more for locals than for tourists, but is in easy walking distance (5 minutes) of at least two Metro stations, making it very easy and quick to visit all the typical attractions. The very best thing was the warm welcome and friendly service from the multi-lingual staff. David from France and Mauricio (I think) from Argentina made us feel at home.
Much nicer than I expected considering how cheap it was! Very clean and comfortable bed, decent sized bathroom, super friendly and helpful staff and fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast every morning. Unbeatable location in easy walking distance of the metro and most of the major museums. Still pretty modest accommodation obviously, but definitely one of the better budget hotels in central Paris!
Great unpretentious hotel situated in quiet side street at the bottom end of Rue du Bac. Perfect room and hotel size and facilities. Breakfast (extra, not cheap€14) excellent quality, quantity & variety. Nice communal areas, with complementary tea & coffee. Very courteous staff.
4 metro stations within 5 or 6 mins walk
Lovely part of Paris close to everything but not touristy.
The hotel I stayed for 4 days. According to me, this is the best hotel that we can stay with this price and cheap but very good quality hotel. If we come to Paris again, We will choose this hotel. The best advantage for this hotel was location and most of the places are in walking distance. I fully recommend to everyone 😇😇
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel France Albion. My room was quite comfortable, everyone at the hotel was very helpful. I enjoyed the neighborhood, there was a great variety of food options in the neighborhood. Also, there were a couple convenient Metro stations very close by. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We went here for our honeymoon. The staff here was probably the best I have ever experienced at a hotel. So friendly and helpful with everything! The breakfast was also the best I have had in France, and the breakfast room is really cozy and nice. The room was also really nice and the location of course perfect.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Bedford three nights to see the finish of the Tour de France. We loved staying at this hotel and found it to be elegant, very comfortable and clean, and the concierge service is extremely helpful. The location is outstanding for sightseeing and eating out in Paris!
During the covid shutdown we stayed in various hotels in Paris. Thankfully the Amiral hotel has reopened - it is by far the best 4*, not the cheapest but well worth the extra. And the heated indoor pool is just too.
Best everything at this hotel! Fabulous view of a super cool courtyard! Great tub! Location the best! The food really good! The people here are the kindest in all of France! Thank you so much!
This place was perfect for part of my stay in France! The location was wonderful. Host was outstanding and so helpful. Loved this apartment!! It will be where I stay every time I go to Paris!
Nice Hotel in the middle of Paris. Many good restaurants. Kind staff at the little coasy hotel. Breakfast ok in France. Clean room. No wardrobe for clothes. Close to Metro and sightseeing.
A nice hotel at a fair price in a great location, right next to the Montparnasse train station and the M13 line. Great for Paris as well as travel around France.
- the location is central however if you pick a hotel 12 min walk further north you’re in the best area in Paris
- cheap due to deals on booking.com for me
