Our family of four stayed for 6 nights sharing one room with two full size beds. We were pleasantly surprised by the property given some of the other reviews. We loved that it was close to town while also being in a quiet, safe, and peaceful area. We appreciated being right by the ocean with a garden and pool to relax in the shade or play games together. We could walk to get food or to other experiences, breakfast, and even found out that yoga (at Buhos) was right around the corner.

This was my second time spending a week in Isla Mujeres.
This was my second time spending a week in Isla Mujeres. The island is very charming and has a lovely local vibe (though there are lots of tourists)--it's nothing like Cancun, though it has plenty of amenities. However this time, I found the services (food, drinks, golf-cart rental, etc) to be very expensive--the prices were comparable and even higher than at home. This was a surprise and we could have budgeted accordingly.
But still, beautiful beaches, water, sunsets, plenty of places to eat/drink.

I think 3 night would be enough to stay on this island.
I think 3 night would be enough to stay on this island. Besides the beaches, there's nothing spectacular to do that you wouldn't find elsewhere in the Cancun-Playa-Tulum area. Bring cash, pesos, it should be renamed to "solo efectivo(cash only) island", restaurants that accept cards are rare, the rates at the local exchange offices are not great.

Beautiful place to visit!
Beautiful place to visit! Friendly people, great live music, lots of restaurants, and food stands. The water was an amazing color of turquoise blue and the sand was soft and white. It was easy to rent a golf cart and tour the entire island. We had an amazing time!

This was our last stop before the end of our three week...
This was our last stop before the end of our three week backpacking around Yucatan . We stayed for five days and it was just right amount of time for us as Isla Mujeres is not that big . It’s however very pretty and scenic and every traveller should make at least 3 day stop there . Town has many restaurants and shops and if you go further away from the port , it gets even prettier . Locals are very friendly , although in town they’re hard to haggle with about prices ( not as cheap and easy as in Cozumel or other islands ) . You sort of get the feel that there are lot of Americans around ( as it’s close to Cancun ) who tend to pay silly money for souvenirs and locals seem to know that so they’re not budging with prices . So word of advice : if you are planning to get cheap souvenirs , get them in Cozumel or Holbox . Other than that , Isla Mujeres is a very pretty island to visit.

Isla can be very busy with overnight guests but day trippers as well. So many places to eat and drink but don’t be afraid to wander off the Main Street and check out smaller establishments and the street carts. Family run places are the best. Not the deals price wise there used to be but still decent value.

Renting a golf cart is fun - but only needed for one day;
Very expensive - the businesses definitely know they have a captive audience; we were visiting from Cancun and booked Nomads x 4 nights (I don't recommend Nomads no "quiet" hours) and in all honesty - we could have taken a day trip and saved money and time. Very "touristy".
We arrived to Isla Mujeres by ferry late. We walked across the road from the ferry terminal to Hotel de Gomar. We met the Hotel manager Frank who was waiting for us. He booked us in, and then transported us by golf cart to Villa Pajaros some 10 minutes south of the ferry terminal. It went very smooth. The apartment was immaculate. Is was so clean, and everything looked new and worked. The pool area and gardens are nice and the area is quiet. It had a lovely local ambience and felt part of Mexico and not part of a tourist centre.
If you look for a hotel for good location with beach, this place is perfect for you. Sunset is super beautiful. Hotel facility is not new but well cleaned. Gave us a free Margarita ticket for each. Stuff is very friendly and prepared beach chairs and a parasol kindly. Highstreet is down the road. You can find many gift shops and restaurants. I am sure you can find a cheaper hotel not next to the beach but worth to stay here to get all experience in Isla Mujeres. I would stay again!
Súper nice hotel, 2 seconds (seconds!) walk to the beach. Check in and out is easy, dolor lock is very safe, room is very clean, kitchen very useful. It has air conditioning. Súper safe for a female solo traveller. They let You leave your luggage if the room is not ready (watch out: check in at 3pm). I stayed twice in this hotel, and i would totally go back. Way cleaner than many other places in the island. Proximity to the best beach is an amazing plus.
The hotel was spotless clean, staff friendly and very nice. They all spoke English and Spanish. Our room was amazing, bed super comfortable with white and crispy sheets. We had a nice balcony with a bathtub, we could always see the turquoise waters of the beautiful ocean. Breakfast buffet was really good with lots of options. Both pools are very nice… We really loved Isla Mujeres and Izla Hotel. This is our second time, we’ll surely come back next year!
The hotel itself is beautiful, we couldn't take enough pictures. The view from our room and general views from the hotel overlooking the ocean were beautiful. There is a nice gathering area, lounge chairs and deck that overlooks one of the best views of the island. There is beach access and ocean access, but not a lot of beach in that area... but very nice. The pool is small but adequate and reasonable for the island. We really enjoyed our stay.
Great location of the hotel on Isla Mujeres, 5 min walk from the ferry terminal, 8 min walking from Playa Norte, but really quite at night!
Staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. Small but clean pool. Room was very clean, beds all right. Kitchen equipped with cutlery, microwave oven and mini oven as week as proper fridge.
Best location for hotels on the island. Overlooking the ocean but just a few blocks from downtown and North Beach. Room is huge and so clean. We did not see a single bug on site and for a tropical island this is a serious accomplishment. Staff is awesome. Breakfast (included) was so good everyday.
Staff at restaurant, and Emilio, the waiter at the beach were a outstanding!
The restaurant could use some electric fans since is outdoors and you sit just sweating while eating. However the waitress, and the waiter we’re just wonderful people doing their best to give great service to hotel guests.
The essence of this hotel revolves around its prime location. Situated on a small island connected to Isla Mujeres by a bridge, it offers breathtaking beaches, stunning sunsets, and crystal-clear waters.
The dinner offered delicious food, and a must-visit spot is the chevicheria.
Very helpful staff at this beautiful boutique hotel with a gorgeous view on the ocean. Top-notch room and one of the best beds we have slept in. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the busy tourist center of Isla Mujeres.
Beautiful location - the beach front was one of the best we saw in Isla Mujeres. The service at the restaurant and bar was exceptional and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was also really good.
The location was perfect, walking distance to north beach and Hidalgo street. Plenty of parking for golf carts if you rent one. We loved the pools at the hotel, the one overlooking the ocean was our favorite.
The hotel is stunning. The rooms are exceptional as is the style of the hotel grounds. The breakfast is also top draw and the location is beautiful, the best location for the best sunset views on the island.
Very clean, comfortable, minimalistic. The location is great right on the main street with all the restaurants. The north beach is a short walk from the hotel. They provide beach towels and chairs too.
awesome seview, reasonable price, spacious, nice host, a bot worn and ´rusty´, however very clean, room service daily. the hotel offers all you need to explore the island on budget
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Secreto, Angel was amazing - he makes the best cocktails! We met another guest Jim from Illinois - he made our trip.
Thank you Angel.
This is an excellent place to stay during your trip to Isla Mujeres. It's close to the best beach, immaculately clean and managed with professionalism. Highly recommended.
The hotel was directly on the Malacon therefore listening to the waves from the patio was beautiful. The Hotel is walkable to North Beach and close the the town.
The staff at this hotel were amazing - very friendly, professional and helpful! Thank you Damian and Leslie, you made our time on Isla Mujeres wonderful.
