I liked the live music in the bars, the choice of restaurants and the interesting shops. I got some lovely birthday presents while l was rambling round the town. Westport House and grounds are lovely, although the House is closed for renovations temporarily. Westport is a good base also for other interesting places in Mayo. All in all, good in any season.

Westport is a small town but has everything traveller could wish for. Loads of great bars and restaurants. Independent shops abound. There s s lovely atmosphere at this time of year. The locals are very friendly and it is a pleasure to visit. Close to the town are wonderful beaches and the village of Louisburgh nearby is also well worth a stop.
Finally Westport is about an hour's scenic drive from magical Achill Island.

Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town...
Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town situated in the West of Ireland and central to Connemara and Atlantic Way. High quality pups and eateries with traditional Irish flair, great for foodies and coffee shop lovers alike.
Traditional Irish pubs with Irish music overlook the town square and the old bridge which crosses the river where fly fishermen cast their rods. The local people are friendly and welcoming.
The people were lovely, very welcoming. However the food was poor, breakfast very unremarkable and small veggie breakfast consisted of an egg half an tomato a single hash brown. Ate in the restaurant for dinner the food was lacking flavour and was bland. The bar staff were great and very attentive. The hotel was very clean however the smell of cleaning products from our en suite was nauseatingly strong.
Loved the central in-town location. Check in was super easy, all the staff we met throughout our stay were very friendly, professional and helpful as regards things to see and do, and places to eat. We ate in the hotel restaurant and had a lovely meal, decently priced and in a comfortable restaurant. Lots of locals seemed to be eating there too which is always a good sign.
Location was amazing. It was perfect for a trip to Croagh Patrick, a tour around the city or a beautiful walk or bike ride around town and countryside. The hotel was well decorated and there was free onsite parking. Our room and the entire hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was included and delicious.
Fantastic place, great room, the most comfortable bed ever. Lovely breakfast and food from the restaurant at night. Loved the fact that it was away from the towns just sheer peace and quiet of the countryside with great views
Can't fault this hotel or the staff.
Look forward to returning
A big thank you to all the staff
I stayed at the hotel with my wife. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice for the 3 courses. I really enjoyed the meal and the table service was prompt and timely. The room and facilities met our expectations and I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
A Fantastic hotel, where all the staff were exceptional in their duties, always willing to assist. The hotel ticks every box as the facilities are fabulous the room spacious and modern. We were treated to wine and choc's on arrival as it was our 25th wedding anniversary, which was a lovely touch indeed.
This was the best stay on our trip to Ireland . Our room was like a hotel room with charm. The view and land was gorgeous. The hostess was lovely. Breakfast was in a beautiful sunroom. Close to everything we wanted. To see
Very nice introduction to the facilities from a friendly and helpful team at the Hotel. The facilities are excellent and its location above the town gives a superb panoramic view of Westport and the surrounding area.
The Hotel itself is lovely. Wonderful location, central to the town. Easy to get to the beaches. Lovely places to sit. Staff are very friendly. Bar and restaurant really nice and the breakfast was great.
Was ok for a one night stay It's very central walking distance to the town if you are fit to walk, and close to hotel ,
Breakfast fry up was nice and hot.
There is tea and coffee in the rooms.
Lovely hotel on the main square of a beautiful town. Our check in was quick & efficient, the room was clean & quiet. They were quite busy but ran everything smoothly.
Loved the bar food in the Castlecourt Hotel. It actually was better than the restaurant I think. Service in the bar was also very good. Very attentive and friendly.
The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Ideally located in the town and walking distance to all areas. Paid parking beside hotel €3 for 24 hours.
Great location, can easily walk to the quay or the town. The staff in the hotel and leisure centre were so helpful and friendly. Had a wonderful time 😊
